Promoter Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of EntryRate as a promoter. EntryRate is operated by Showday Tickets LTD (company no. 17168332, Bristol). The same company also operates showday.co.uk, where your listings surface to consumers.
1 · Parties & definitions
"We", "us", "EntryRate" means Showday Tickets LTD, registered in England & Wales, company no. 17168332. "You", "Promoter" means the legal entity holding an EntryRate account. "Buyer" means a person who purchases a ticket through EntryRate or Showday. "Network" means the combined surfaces of EntryRate (back-of-house, you) and Showday (storefront, the buyer).
2 · Your account
You must apply for an account and be approved before listing events. We reserve the right to decline applications without giving reason — typically because the events on offer fall outside what we cover (gambling, restricted goods, age-restricted content beyond standard 18+ gigs, anything illegal in England & Wales).
2.1 Eligibility
- You must be 18 or older and acting on behalf of a legitimate event-hosting entity.
- If you list on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
- You must complete Stripe Connect onboarding before any payouts can clear — Stripe's own terms apply in addition to ours.
2.2 Account security
You are responsible for all activity on your account. Passwords are hashed and never visible to us. Magic-link auth is the recommended login route. Audit trail of every admin action is retained for at least 24 months and exported to you on request.
3 · Fees & payouts
Our platform fee is published on our rates page. The standard rate at the date of these terms is 5% + £0.75 per ticket. Founders' tier accounts (the first 50 Bristol promoters) are 2.5% + £0.75 per ticket, locked for the life of the account.
3.1 Stripe processing
Stripe charges its own card-processing fee (UK: 1.4% + 20p for European cards; 2.9% + 20p for international cards). This is passed through at cost — we do not mark up Stripe.
3.2 Payout schedule
Stripe Connect runs daily payouts. Funds from a sale that clears today land in your nominated UK bank account on the staged release. We do not hold a float. There is no minimum payout threshold.
3.3 Manual adjustments
In the rare case a manual payout is required (chargeback dispute, refund correction, account migration), it will be reflected in your ledger with a clear audit-log entry attributed to the admin who made the change.
4 · Network cross-listing on Showday
By default, every event you publish is also listed on showday.co.uk — the consumer-facing side of the same Network. This is what makes EntryRate viable at the rates we charge: Showday brings traffic that would otherwise cost you in marketing.
- You can opt any individual event out of Showday cross-listing per event in the dashboard.
- Cross-listed events display your venue, your imagery and your tier names — your branding is preserved.
- Showday may rank, feature or de-rank events based on quality, relevance and buyer protection (e.g. excessive complaints).
- Buyer-facing terms on Showday additionally apply to Showday-originated transactions; promoter-facing terms (these) govern your obligations to us.
5 · Refunds, transfers & resale
You set the refund policy for your events. The default — and what we recommend — is full refund up to 48 hours before doors, then non-refundable except for cancellation. You can override this per event. Cancelled events are full-refund by default; we may withhold our platform fee or pass it through to you depending on cause.
5.1 Resale
Where you enable resale, tickets can only be resold at face value. The atomic claim flow ensures one buyer wins and the original seller is refunded minus our platform fee, in line with consumer protection norms in England & Wales.
5.2 Transfers
Buyers may transfer tickets to another email address using a 48-hour token. Transferred tickets remain valid for the original event only.
6 · Data & ownership
You own the content you upload (event copy, imagery, branding). You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it across the Network for the purpose of operating the service. Customer data — buyer email addresses, names, ticket history for your events — is jointly held under UK GDPR.
- You may export your full event, order and customer database as CSV at any time, no charge.
- We will not sell or share your buyer list with third-party marketing platforms.
- Buyers can request account deletion, which removes their PII from your view as well as ours.
7 · Liability & indemnity
You are responsible for delivering the event you sold. We are responsible for delivering the platform you sold it on. Where the platform fails (downtime, payment failure, data loss attributable to us) our maximum liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the preceding 90 days. Where you fail to deliver an event you sold, you indemnify us against buyer claims.
8 · Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend an account immediately for fraud, abusive behaviour, breach of these terms or to comply with law. On termination we will pay out cleared funds owed to you within 14 days, less any outstanding chargebacks or refunds.
9 · Law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
